Day 1
Paro Arrival and Transfer to Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your dedicated tour guide and begin a picturesque one-hour drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital nestled in the mountains. After settling into your hotel, embark on an afternoon of cultural discovery. Begin with a visit to KuenselPhodrang, home to the towering Great Buddha Dordenma statue, offering panoramic views of the valley below. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a revered site where locals gather to pray and circumambulate in deep devotion. Thimphu to Punakha for Sightseeing
Today, your journey continues to Punakha, the serene former capital of Bhutan, renowned for its natural beauty and deep historical significance. Along the way, pause at the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100m), where, on a clear day, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. The 108 chortens that crown the pass stand as a tribute to Bhutanese valor and spiritual devotion.
Upon arrival in Punakha—Bhutan’s seat of power until 1955—you will explore landmarks that reflect the kingdom’s spiritual and cultural richness. Begin with a visit to Chimi Lhakhang, the revered Temple of Fertility, dedicated to the eccentric saint Lama Drukpa Kunley. Then, marvel at the architectural grandeur of Punakha Dzong, majestically situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Today’s journey to Bumthang offers more than just transportation—it’s a scenic experience. CelebrateDrup Festival in Jambay Lhakhang
Like many traditional festivals in Bhutan, the Jambay Lhakhang Drup is celebrated to dispel negativity and invoke blessings for peace, prosperity, and good fortune. In 2025, this vibrant festival will take place from October 6th to 10th at the sacred Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang. One of the most captivating aspects of the festival occurs around 8:00 PM, when local villagers and masked dancers gather at the temple for an evening of ritual dances. Among these is the rare and symbolic “Naked Dance” (Ter Cham), performed discreetly under the cover of night to Honor ancient spiritual traditions and express joy and liberation.
During the daytime, your cultural exploration will continue with visits to some of Bumthang’s most revered sites, including the Tamshing Lhakhang, known for its ancient murals and spiritual significance; the sacred Kurjey Lhakhang, believed to house the body imprint of Guru Rinpoche; and the impressive Jakar Dzong, often referred to as the “Castle of the White Bird.” This immersive experience offers a rare and profound glimpse into Bhutan’s spiritual heartland.

Today, you may continue enjoying the vibrant Jambay Lhakhang DrupFestival or explore other cultural gems in Bumthang. Phobjikha,Gangtey – Valley of the Black naked cranes
Today, you will journey to the serene valley of Gangtey, home to the breathtaking Phobjikha Valley—a glacial valley renowned for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. As you take a leisurely stroll through this picturesque landscape, you may encounter the graceful, black-necked cranes, which migrate here each winter and are revered as symbols of peace and longevity in Bhutanese culture. Gangtey Valley to Paro
We will return to Paro, the gateway through which you first entered Bhutan six days ago. En route, make a stop at Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress-monastery in the country, built in 1629, and a key landmark in Bhutanese history. Upon arrival in Paro, you will visit the majestic Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), an architectural masterpiece perched above the Paro River. The dzong not only offers insight into Bhutan’s monastic traditions but also presents stunning views of the river and surrounding valley, making for a truly enriching and scenic experience.

Hike to Taktsang (Tiger Nest) Monastery
