Day 1
Arrival in Paro – Acclimatization & Sightseeing
- Altitude: Paro (2,200 m)
- Activity: Arrival at Paro International Airport. After hotel check-in and rest, enjoy an easy sightseeing tour of Paro Dzong and the National Museum.
- Overnight: Hotel in Paro
- Hiking Time: Minimal (city walking)
Day 2
Trek to Bumdrak via Sang Choekor Monastery
- Start Altitude: Sang Choekor Buddhist College (~2,500 m)
- End Altitude:Bumdrak Camp (~3,800 m)
- Ascent: ~1,300 m
- Descent: Minimal
- Approximate Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
- Description: Drive to Sang Choekor Buddhist College to start your trek. Ascend through fragrant pine forests and prayer-flag-lined paths, passing meditation caves and sacred sites. Reach Bumdrak Camp, a peaceful spot with breathtaking panoramic views and spiritual calm.
- Overnight: Camping at Bumdrak
Day 3
Descend via Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery)
- Start Altitude:Bumdrak Camp (~3,800 m)
- Descent Altitude: Base of Taktshang/Paro Valley (~2,200 m)
- Descent: ~1,600 m
- Ascent (optional at Taktshang): ~300 m climb to the monastery itself
- Approximate Hiking Time: 6 hours (including visit to Tiger’s Nest)
- Description: After a peaceful morning, descend through forested trails toward the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery perched on a cliff. Optionally hike up the 300-meter vertical ascent to visit this sacred site. Continue down to the base and drive back to your hotel in Paro.

Day 4
Day Excursion to Thimphu
- Altitude: Thimphu (2,350 m)
- Activity: Drive to Bhutan’s capital for a cultural day tour including Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichho Dzong, and artisan markets. Return to Paro in the evening.
- Overnight: Hotel in Paro
- Hiking Time: Minimal (city walking)
Day 5
Departure from Paro
- Altitude: Paro (2,200 m)
- Activity: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
